The members of our Center for Government Performance have more than 14 years of experience with both local and state governments, assisting them in attaining the established goals through thorough strategy planning and implementation, performance measurement and improvement at all levels and a rigorous alignment between different entities, all based on the extensive and accurate research projects coordinated.
LEADERSHIP
Aurel Brudan is the Director of the Center for Government Performance, as well as founder and CEO of The KPI Institute, a research institute specialized in business performance which operates research programs in 12 practice domains ranging from strategy and KPIs to employee performance and from customer service to innovation performance.
Under his coordination, The KPI Institute research team documented over 20,000 KPI examples from 15 functional areas and 24 industries, reviewed 1,000+ performance reports from 125 countries and referenced 20,000+ resources, the result being www.smartKPIs.kpiinstitute.org, the premier destination for quality performance management and measurement resources.
Other research programs resulted in the development of two maturity models for performance management and measurement, as well as the establishment of the KPI Management Framework to provide the theoretical base for the Certificate in Key Performance Indicators Management.
As a consultant, Aurel conducted numerous performance management system implementations using solutions such as the Balanced Scorecard, operational dashboards and functional performance scorecards. Among his most important clients are Australia Post, the Australian Federal Administration, the Victorian State Government, Brisbane City Council, National Australia Bank, Qatar Supreme Council of Health and SABIS.
As an educator, Aurel has accumulated hundreds of hours of experience in a variety of settings, from open and in-house training delivery to tutoring management for the University of Melbourne. Aurel is a member of the Academy of Management, the Australian New Zealand Academy of Management, the Australian Marketing Institute and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Aurel has tertiary qualifications in both Economics and Marketing, complemented by postgraduate certificates in Advanced Learning and Leadership, as well as in Research Commercialization from the Melbourne Business School in Australia. Aurel is also in the final stages of his PhD. candidature, researching Integrated Performance Management Systems at the University of Melbourne.
Teodora Gorski is Manager of the Center for Government Performance, as well as Managing Director MENA at The KPI Institute. As a Managing Director, Teodora lead organizational development initiatives to support and enhance the organization’s strategic plan and manages the development and growth of the MENA branch of The KPI Institute.
In the Organizational Development field, her activity has resulted in developing and implementing programs for talent management, performance management and innovation.
Some of Teodora`s most significant projects include designing and implementing various corporate expansion projects, implementing performance management systems and business development strategies for the Middle East. She also has experience in working with organizational design when it comes to managing structural change and ensuring organizational capability.
Teodora has gained a solid background in working with performance management systems due to her activity as a consultant and analyst both at the corporate and NGO level. She acted as a project manager for various initiatives within the performance management and HR fields.
As a facilitator, Teodora has developed and delivered training courses on enhancing the individual learning and soft skills of employees. As a Certified KPI Professional, Teodora has been involved in matters such as determining employee competencies and skills with a variety of national and international clients from diverse industries.
Teodora holds qualifications in International Business Administration, Project Management and Law, complemented by a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation from the ISCTE Business School in Lisbon and a Human Resource Specialist Certificate.
Teodora’s educational and professional background is further strengthened by completing the Master Trainer Program, provided by the Association for Talent and Development (ATD) from the United States, as well as participating in international seminars and conferences.
RESEARCH FELLOWS
Adrian Brudan is the General Manager of The KPI Institute EMEA Region. Adrian is an expert researcher, consultant and practitioner with 7 years of experience in the deployment and implementation of KPI Management Frameworks. He has been involved in designing and delivering the organization’s KPI educational programs, aimed at developing competencies in the area of Performance Management and Measurement. He specialized in organizational performance measurement and management audit, using internally researched and developed performance management capability maturity model frameworks.
As an educator, Adrian has facilitated hundreds of training courses and advisory programs on performance management subject matters in multiple industry settings ranging from oil & gas, utilities and healthcare to military, finance and airline industry.
As a consultant, he holds valuable experience both in Performance Management and Project Management. His expertise and knowledge range from the implementation and review of performance management architecture, to KPI Scorecards and Dashboards design.
Part of The KPI Institute’s consultants team since its inception, he was involved in several international projects reviewing performance management architectures and delivering educational programs for clients in Europe, North America, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia.
Mihai Toma is the Head of Professional Practice MENA at The KPI Institute. His research activity in the Performance Management field has resulted in the documentation and revision of over 1000 Key Performance Indicators.
Some of Mihai’s most significant research programs have resulted in the development of several publications such as “The KPI Compendium” and the “Top 25 KPIs in 2011- 2012” Report Series.
Mihai has developed a solid background in implementing performance management systems due to facilitating the establishment of The KPI Institute’s strategic direction and the cascading of KPIs from the organizational level to the individual one.
Mihai has been actively involved in the implementation and design of KPI operational dashboards and functional performance scorecards, assisting in the development of the performance management system architecture for The KPI Institute’s clients from various industries and functional areas.
As a Master Trainer, certified by The Association for Talent Development, Mihai has developed and delivered training courses on selecting and documenting KPIs, managing individual performance and performance improvement. Examples of courses and certifications: Certified KPI Professional and Practitioner Certification, Performance Improvement Masterclass, KPI Masterclass and KPI Essentials.
As a Certified KPI Practitioner, Mihai has advised and worked with a variety of international clients from industries such as petrochemicals, utilities, healthcare, construction materials production, pension funds, food production and professional services.
Mihai holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Tourism and Services and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration /Managerial Economics from the Lucian Blaga University, Faculty of Economic Studies. Mihai’s educational and professional background is complemented by an international Certificate in KPI Management granted by The KPI Institute, as well as by his participation in a series of international seminars and conferences.
Cristina Tărâță is Head of the Research Department at The KPI Institute. Her research activity is reflected by the development of the smartkpis.com database, documenting over 1,000 KPIs from 16 functional areas and 25 industries, by the launch of over 90 reports ”Top 25 KPIs in 2011-2012” and The KPI Institute’s book series: The KPI Compendium and The KPI Dictionaries.
As a consultant, Cristina was involved in several international projects for implementing a performance management system based on Balanced Scorecard, both at strategic, operational and individual level. Furthermore, she revised the performance management architecture of companies from different industries, including financial institutions, petrochemicals, public sector, health and professional services.
As a Master Trainer, Cristina facilitated the following training courses: Certified KPI Professional Training Course, KPIs for Call Centers, KPIs, Scorecards and Dashboards for Human Resources, Performance Criteria, Evaluating and Improving Employee Performance, Implementing Programs to Increase Employee Engagement and Business Simulation „Friday Night at the ER”.
Over the last few years, she was a speaker for numerous international performance related conferences and events, such as: HR Directors Summit 2016 (Birmingham, UK), e Supply Chain Analytics Conference 2015, The 15thHR Shared Services Summit 2014 (Chicago, United States of America).
Marcela Presecan is a Senior Business Research Specialist for The KPI Institute. In terms of professional expertise, Marcela has a 5-year background in financial services and retail banking. Throughout this period, she was involved with the use of financial indicators and performance indexes to facilitate client account management and financial advisory. Throughout her engagement with The KPI Institute Marcela has contributed to the coordination and release of the Top 25 KPI Reports – 2016 Edition.
Moreover, Marcela was involved in the coordination and release of the Performance Management in 2014: ASEAN Special Edition report, while also being a part of the editorial team for multiple research publications including: The KPI Dictionaries Series, State of Employee Performance Management, GCC Hospitals Performance, State of Performance Improvement and Key Performance Indicator Practice Report, as well as the Performance Management Magazine.
As a senior researcher with the KPI Institute, Marcela was involved in international projects for implementing performance management systems based on the Balanced Scorecard framework at strategic, operational and individual level. Marcela contributed to the development of performance management architectures from various industries including: government, healthcare and finance. In 2016, during the Performance Management Conference in Romania, she co-facilitated a Masterclass Program on” Developing an Integrated Performance Management System within Modern Organizations” and a workshop on “Building a Performance Culture: Aligning Employees to Organizational Strategy”.
